Chris Simms Shares Expectation For Patriots’ Jarrett Stidham Ahead Of 2020 Season

It is hard to imagine football with everything currently going on in the world. But that has not stopped the Patriots from looking forward to the 2020 season. None more so than Jarrett Stidham who has the tall task of taking over for one of the most decorated quarterbacks in NFL history.

It seems like a tough situation to be in for Stidham. Considering he doesn’t have too much of a cast around him, it is looking like it might be in for a tough season. But that has not stopped some people from giving their expectations for the season going forward. None more than Chris Simms, who came out with his thoughts on the new quarterback.

“I don’t think New England is going to ask him to carry the team,” Simms said. “I think they’re going to play a very similar style to what you saw last year from New England. Tom Brady didn’t win New England any games last year. I’m not trying to be a jerk saying that. They won games with their defense and playing a certain way and really not letting their offense screw the game up. I think it will be similar.”

If that is the case, then New England Patriot fans should not be expecting much change. It would be silly for anyone to think that Stidham is going to come in and instantly change the face of the team. However, it will be interesting to see how he and the rest of the team coincide with each other.

The Patriots are going to have to figure out how they can work with Stidham in order to have a successful year. Unfortunately, based on what Simms had to say, it could be another 2019 season all over again which wouldn’t sit well with most fans.

We will just have to wait and see how this huge change will work out for everyone. It is never easy to replace a quarterback, especially one like Tom Brady who was the face of the entire franchise for years. Hopefully we will start to see some good results sooner rather than later.
