Doc Rivers Reveals Why NBA Has Been Unfair To LeBron James Compared To Michael Jordan

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers spoke about the difference between LeBron James and Michael Jordan. He talked about the treatment LeBron receives at the moment. He sure knows what he is talking about. Rivers had confronted both players on the floor as a player and coach. Well, he is definitely giving us an interesting aspect.

The Clippers head coach appeared on “Sports on Tap Hoops.” He said that everyone had different expectations from LeBron and Jordan.

The Chicago Bulls drafted MJ in 1984 and he won a title seven years later. Jordan was a fan favorite in the very first year with the team. It was actually individualistic praise. He wasn’t a team guy. Unlike Jordan, LeBron was a team-man who tries to make everyone a better player. LeBron really wants to help his team reach the top. He has been at the top of the assists chart several times. This proves pretty much everything you need to know about him.

Rivers has seen the start of both players. He said that people didn’t criticize Jordan for not being a team-man.

“Michael… 7 years didn’t win an NBA title. It’s because he didn’t trust. He didn’t trust the system. Wanted to dominate himself,” he said. “He didn’t get the importance of using his teammates and using everyone else. But no one criticized Michael.”

Doc Rivers knows LeBron James was treated differently

Rivers is convinced that Jordan found his greatness gradually. He didn’t see much pressure to become the ultimate player. LeBron had a different treatment. Everyone has high expectations for him.

“The difference between Michael and LeBron. When Michael came into the league, he surprised everybody how great he was. When LeBron came in the league, they expected him to be great so it was already on him. Michael… We allowed him to grow into greatness. We didn’t allow LeBron that.”

LeBron is in his 17th season in the league, and he won’t go anywhere. His Lakers team has a chance to win a title this time. However, the season was suspended, and players had to sit home for two months. They have already returned to their practice facilities to work under specific conditions.
