Falcons Reference Super Bowl Loss Vs. Patriots In Very Depressing Tweet

The Atlanta Falcons didn’t have much luck at the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI. They saw an unexpected loss. Pretty much every Falcons fan thought that the team would win the big game. Many thought that Atlanta would take home the trophy. Well, it was a bitter moment for the team, and they will never forget it. Did the Patriots nation feel bad for Atlanta? Sort of.

SB Nation asked Twitter followers to list “one moment in sports history they wish went differently.”

The Falcons didn’t name the Super Bowl loss to the Patriots. But, you can easily guess it, right?

Atlanta Falcons safety Ricardo Allen answered questions from the podium after the loss. His eyes were red, and he had to detail every painful moment from the loss. He was answering question after question about the most awful moments of the 34-28 loss to the Patriots. When asked how did he feel, he said, “I feel broken. I feel numb.”

Falcons players were depressed after the loss to the Patriots

Center Alex Mack played with a fracture in the left fibula. When asked how did he feel, he said, “depressed.” He didn’t even mention the pain in his leg. He was too focused on the loss. His eyes welled with tears and he even had to take a moment to gather himself.

Falcons cornerback Robert Alfold found strength to answer all the questions. When asked about his feelings, the cornerback said he was disappointed, adding that he feels like he let his team down. Alford returned an interception for a touchdown and recovered a fumble during the game. He definitely didn’t let the team down.

It was all about Julian Edelman’s brilliant catch. Alford still remembers the fractions of a second before the Patriots wideout grabbed the ball that was coming from the sky. Alfold could win the game. He could also win the Super Bowl MVP award. But he didn’t.

This loss will always be a dark spot on the Falcons’ resume. They tried to win and had a really good chance to do that. But, the Patriots had an incredible play, and this play caught them off-guard.
