Lakers’ LeBron James: ‘Definitely not giving up on the season…’

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James don’t even think of giving up on the regular season. The king of basketball said he would love to have the regular season back. LeBron is more than confident that the players won’t be in danger.

The three-time NBA champion spoke on the Uninterrupted platform’s “WRTS: After Party” show. He said that having the season back is still one of his greatest wishes.

“Definitely not giving up on the season,” LeBron said. “Not only myself and my teammates, the Lakers organization, we want to play. There’s a lot of players that I know personally that want to play. And obviously, we don’t ever want to jeopardize the health of any of our players or any of the players’ families and so on and so on. This is a pandemic that we have no idea (about). We can’t control it.”

LeBron was one of the many highest-paid players of the NBA who met to discuss the season. National Basketball Players Association president Chris Paul of the Oklahoma City Thunder also part of the group. They all agreed that they would like to see the season back.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver told union members on May 8 that they will probably make a decision about the season’s future. They will probably make this decision in four weeks.

LeBron is not giving up on the season

The league is preparing for all the possible options. Half of the NBA teams had their practice facilities reopened. Players get the chance to have their workouts. NASCAR restarted the season, and baseball players have similar plans. Live golf returns Sunday.

“We’re seeing a lot of sporting events, UFC, soccer, we’re hearing baseball’s about to get going in a little bit,” LeBron said. “You know, I want to get back to playing. Love to play the game of basketball. I know how inspiring the game of basketball is. I know how inspiring sport is, itself. As soon as possible, when we can get back out there, we’d love to bring the game of basketball back to our fans.”

LeBron and his Lakers earned the top spot in the West. They have a 49-14 record at the moment, and this is actually the second-best record in the NBA. The Milwaukee Bucks are on top of the list.

I know we all miss it,” King James said. “I’d be sitting here lying if I said we don’t.”
