LeBron James Reacts To George Floyd’s Death At The Hands Of Police Brutality

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is one of the most vocal athletes against police brutality. His most recent post will reach many people and that was his primary goal. Four Minneapolis Police Department officers lost their jobs on Tuesday as confirmed by the department. This happened after the footage that was released on the officers’ death of African-American man George Floyd. King James couldn’t ignore the controversy and took to his Instagram account to share the information about the tragedy. LeBron shared his reaction on social media Tuesday afternoon.

LeBron shared a photo split in half between the action of one police officer pressing his lower leg against Floyd’s neck. In the second photo, we can see former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick taking a knee.

The Lakers superstar is an influential and outspoken voice added the “Stay woke” hashtag.

LeBron warns about police brutality

A video of Floyd went viral, and we can hear him say he cannot breathe. The Minneapolis officers arrested Floyd over an alleged forgery. LeBron took his time to remind everyone of Kaepernick’s protest.

The quarterback was kneeling throughout the entire 2017 season during the performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner.” Kaepernick did this to remind everyone of the way police officers brutalize people of color in the country. We may be living in 2020, but this problem is still alive.

LeBron also became an outspoken mourner of Ahmaud Arbery. The man was killed and the whole thing was caught on camera. A father and a son killed Arbery. At the beginning, they claimed that Arbery was a burglar, and this was just their attempt to excuse their moves.

LeBron will never excuse people like this father and son. He will always remind others of these acts, and he will always keep our eyes open. LeBron isn’t someone who remains silent. He will always talk about these issues.

The situation around Floyd, Kaepernick, Arbery and many others will keep raising questions and hopefully, their families will get a closure in the near future. We all deserve answers to these questions. Why did these men die? Why did the officers torture Floyd?
