LeBron won’t let the country forget the death of George Floyd

LeBron took to his Instagram account to share an image with one side showing the police kneeling on Floyd’s neck. On the other side we can see former San Francisco 49 quarterback Colin Kaepernick taking a knee.

The reference to the quarterback was over Kaepernick protesting police brutality and racial injustice. Kaepernick was taking a knee during the performance of the national anthem. He was doing that prior to the start of each game.

The police officers may face federal charges

Officer Garrett Parten, a police spokesman, confirmed that the four officers were “separated from employment” for their involvement in Floyd’s death. Floyd’s family says they should be charged with murder.

Mayor Jacob Frey said he supports every decision the police make. He approved the firing of the officers. Frey said that it’s the right decision for the city. It was definitely the right decision for the community and the Minneapolis Police Department.

“I support your decisions, one hundred percent,” said Mayor Frey in his statement about the firing of the officers. “It is the right decision for our city. The right decision for our community, it is the right decision for the Minneapolis Police Department.”

The FBI has initiated an investigation into the incident. They will present the findings to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota. The police officers may face federal charges. The whole thing will soon be brought to a conclusion. It was a big tragedy, and the country will never forget it.
