NBA Commentator Reveals Michael Jordan Called Him To Defend And Appreciate LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan are the main characters of the GOAT debate. Many would think that the GOAT discussion would only create a rivalry between them. It turns out that Jordan didn’t do anything else but defend and appreciate LeBron.

NBA commentator Michael Wilbon released some off the air info about Jordan’s opinion of King James.

ESPN’s release of the docu-series, “The Last Dance,” opened a lot of questions about LeBron and Jordan. Wilbon is a commentator with ESPN, and he has already worked with Washington Post. We all know that he has great ties with the Bulls legend as a journalist.

During his recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Wilbon shared the details of an off the air conversation with Jordan. The Bulls legend talked about LeBron. Can you make any guesses? Well, Jordan actually had great things to say about LeBron. He even asked Wilbon not to take a shot at him.

“This is an off-the-record thing that he would probably frown on me for telling, but I’m going to tell it,” Wilbon said. “I’d answer the phone, and this is what I’d hear on the other end. ‘Hey, don’t take a shot at LeBron, that’s just garbage. This kid is great. There’s no need to take a shot at him.’ That conversation is playing out with him knowing it’s not going to be repeated — it’s not going to be told on PTI, it’s not going to be written about in the Washington Post, or on ESPN.com.”

The GOAT debate won’t end here, and we believe Jordan and LeBron will have so much to say about each other.

Jordan would defend LeBron and many others

LeBron wasn’t the only player that the Bulls legend liked. According to Wilbon, Jordan would often defend the players he liked despite the negative comments. Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry belong to this group.

“That happened with young players that Michael liked, like somewhere between occasionally and frequently. You know, defend Russell WestbrookSteph Curry, early on… there were certain players Michael would call up and say, “Hey, hey, stop. This is not…” or if he knew I knew the person he’d say, ‘Tell your boy he’s wrong.’”
