New Rumors Swirl About Patriots’ Love For Jarrett Stidham

Star quarterback Tom Brady left a big hole on the Patriots roster after leaving the team in free agency. Brady was one of the pillars of the Patriots dynasty and he is gone now. The New England Patriots have to rely on second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham and journeyman Brian Hoyer. The team didn’t select a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft which led everyone into thinking that the Patriots will go with Stidham. Well, this theory makes a perfect sense because the Patriots like everything they got from him.

Belichick will have to build his team around a new signal-caller, and he has already said that he is satisfied with both Stidham and Hoyer. The Patriots head coach can recognize real talent and he likes what these two have to offer. Brady left the team a year after they got his backup quarterback. Stidham doesn’t have a lot of experience, and he may struggle on the field. But, his teammates are confident about his leading role. Pretty much every player in the Patriots locker room has praised Stidham. Now we know that the Patriots like him more than they ever liked Jimmy Garoppolo. Can you believe that?

Jarrett Stidham may lead the team

When asked about the quarterback situation in New England, NESN’s Doug Kyed said at least one member of the organization likes him better than Garoppolo.

According to Kyed, Stidham would do better than Jordan Love or Jacob Eason. One thing stands for sure. We don’t know whether these two will be better than Stidham long term. Stidham is talented and his skillset is impeccable.

Many would say that this is a typical Patriot spin, but that’s not true. The Patriots really like Stidham. Is this why they didn’t even try to get a quarterback in the NFL Draft?

After being a second-round draft pick and playing behind TB12 for three seasons, Garoppolo was sent to the San Francisco 49ers. They wanted him to on the starting position. In 2019, Garoppolo threw for 3,978 yards, 27 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and led his team to a Super Bowl appearance. We won’t deny his success. But we know hat he wasn’t a good fit for the Patriots.
