Pau Gasol Got ‘Really Emotional’ Rewatching Kobe Bryant Clinch 2010 Title

Pau Gasol rewatched the Los Angeles Lakers Game 7 win against the Boston Celtics in the 2010 NBA Finals. This game was so important for him, and it also brought him some great memories. Gasol got really emotional after watching Kobe Bryant take the MVP trophy after the game. It was an emotional experience for him. Gasol really liked Kobe.

The Black Mamba lost his life in a tragic helicopter crash near Calabasas. Kobe, his daughter Gianna, and seven others died in the crash, and there’s an ongoing investigation into the accident.

“I can’t say enough about the Spaniard,” Kobe said at the Staples Center crowd. “That guy is unbelievable and just a hell of a player. We wouldn’t have won it without him.”

Ten years after Kobe won the MVP award, Gasol said he got really emotional while watching the Black Mamba acknowledge his contribution.

Gasol talked to Broderick Turner of the LA Times. He used the opportunity to discuss his relationship with Kobe and the title they won.

“I got emotional too, especially towards the end and hearing Kobe speak when he got the MVP trophy and how he acknowledged me,” Gasol recalled. “With him being gone, I got really emotional. It just really meant a lot to me. It’s one of those things with time that you learn to appreciate things and value things more, what you have gone through, what you have achieved, people you have had in your life, people you have shared special things with.”

When it comes to other Gasol-related info, the superstar entertains the idea of retiring as a Laker. Gasol hasn’t played in an NBA game since March 10, 2019. However, he does like the idea of finishing his career as a player with the Los Angeles Lakers.
