Paul Pierce Takes His 3rd In A Row Shot At LeBron James And This Time Is About MVP Case

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce talked about several major topics in the past few weeks, including LeBron James. According to him, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is not in the Top 5 NBA players. Pierce didn’t stop here, and now he claims that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokoumpo should win the NBA MVP award for the season.

Pierce talked about this theory during his appearance on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown.”

“You don’t base MVP off of one game like it’s the All-Star game,” Pierce said. “LeBron won the battle (against Giannis), but the war is already won by Giannis. (…) He’s putting historic numbers for a guy his size, he has the best team, a record-wise and the numbers speak for themselves. He’s been dominating all year long, so I take him for MVP and I’ll take LeBron second.”

Paul Pierce is wrong about LeBron James

The Boston Celtics legend didn’t really take into consideration the game between the Lakers and the Bucks on March 6. The Purple & Gold finished it with a 113-103 win. This was the second game of the two greatest teams in the NBA for the season. The Bucks had a 111-104 win in December 20.

LeBron is averaging 25.7 points (on 49.8 percent shooting), 7.9 rebounds, a league-leading 10.6 assists, and 1.2 steals, while also hitting 2.2 triples per contest with the Lakers. King James has led the team to a 48-13 record and they have the top spot in the Western Conference.

The reigning MVP is averaging 29.6 points (on 54.7 percent from the floor), 13.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks, while providing career-best 1.5 3-pointers per game. Milwaukee has the best record in the league. They have won 53 game and 12 losses.

Both LeBron and Giannis have good numbers, but the Lakers superstar is on top of the NBA. He has been winning games with the Lakers when no other team was able to do that, and he keeps hitting triple-doubles in most of the games. Let’s see how will the season end for the Lakers and LeBron James. Is he the league MVP?
