Photo: Patriots’ Dan Vitale Pays Tribute To Fallen Hero With Memorial Day Workout

The New England Patriots signed Dan Vitale while having great expectations from him. Head coach Bill Belichick and Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio had great words to say about the fullback. Now he is celebrating Memorial Day, and he did that in the most incredible way.

The first-year fullback took part in the “Murph Challenge.” It’s a workout dedicated to Lt. Michael P. Murphy, a United States Navy SEAL, who lost his life in a combat. The NFL Players Association confirmed that Vitale was one of the two football players to complete the great challenge. Indianapolis Colts long snapper Luke Rhodes is the other player.

Dan Vitale was strong

Vitale did a one mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats and another one mile run. Try not to ignore the fact that he had a 20-pound vest on his body. That only adds to the pressure.

Experts believe that Vitale will have a key role for the Pats offense. Fullback James Develin retired this offseason after a brilliant season with the Patriots.

Vitale is a former Green Bay Packers player. He has great versatility, and many compare him to San Francisco 49ers Kyle Juszcyk. The Patriots really like to see him on the field doing his magic. His decision to pay tribute only made people love him more. Patriots fans really loved seeing Vitale do this, and seeing him pay tribute to a fallen hero is a big deal for everyone.

Vitale is joining a rather modified Patriots team. He won’t play alongside quarterback Tom Brady, Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins. However, Belichick provided enough talent for the Patriots to move on and win games. Although some of the key players are missing, the Patriots are confident about their new season. Second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham is expected to take the starting role in September. But, there are also people who say that Brian Hoyer will start instead of Stidham. It will be a rather tricky situation for every player on the Patriots roster. Luckily, they are all ready for the challenge, including coach Bill Belichick, the McCourty twins and many others.
