Analyst Says Kawhi Leonard Not on LeBron James Level Yet

Kawhi Leonard is in no way better than LeBron James. Although there are fans who consider him the GOAT, Kawhi hasn’t reached LeBron’s level yet. He won a title with the Toronto Raptors and is the NBA Finals MVP. Kawhi also won a title with the San Antonio Spurs. But, this doesn’t make him any better than LeBron. We all know  why.

LeBron is the greatest basketball player of all time. He has won three titles, but he did things that no player has ever done. The Lakers superstar is off to winning his fourth title and he leads the NBA in assists. Everyone knew that LeBron would be a star from the very first moment he entered the NBA. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the No. 1 overall pick. He didn’t win a title in his first sting with the team. But, he did help them win a title in 2016, putting an end to the long drought.

King James came to Los Angeles to win a title. He will win a title when the season resumes.

Kawhi is a two-time All-NBA First team member, a two-time NBA All Defensive Player of the Year and three-time NBA All-Defensive First Team member. He is now playing for Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers. He and LeBron are playing in the same city and at the same arena. Clippers fans believe that Kawhi and Paul George make the perfect duo. Truth is, LeBron and Davis play much better on the floor. This season, Kawhi is joining forces with George, Patrick Beverley, Joakim Noah, Ivica Zubac and Lou Williams.

Kawhi was able to lead the Raptors to the Finals. He made headlines with that win.

Kawhi Leonard is in no way better than LeBron James

Ryan Hollins went on the Scoop B Radio Podcast and compared Kawhi to LeBron.

“Kawhi is intriguing,” he said, “because he can actually guard LeBron, but at a time when he won it, he beat a hobbled Warriors team. So we can’t quite grade and say whoa, you did something LeBron couldn’t do because there was no KD. Heck, there was no Klay Thompson and these guys were a little bit older. Iggy was hobbled; I mean, they were the walking wounded honestly. So it’s hard to cast him in or put him in those shoes. It was a lot of opportunity, a lot of timing, but to me, if you talk about the hottest year in basketball; like he’s up there if you take one year and what’s so crazy Scoop, and intriguing; Kawhi Leonard, that run you can only compare to Michael, Kobe and Hakeem. Like the numbers he put up was unreal and he absolutely led his team. And intriguingly the time that he did it, he and KD through the playoffs even though we didn’t see it, they were the best players on the planet at that time.

“KD was stepping into a place and what’s very sad is that we can’t really properly evaluate either of those two because KD got hurt, and then Kawhi played against a hobbled Warriors team. So all you have to go on is show me in the next year. But if you go on their track record before that, you can’t quite put him in that conversation yet and that’s where you appreciate LeBron and his longevity. No, he only won three out of the nine Finals but you have enough of a sample to see that the guy keeps on coming back and consistency absolutely means something.”

It will be interesting to watch Kawhi’s Clippers in the playoffs. He will try to replicate the success he had with Toronto. LeBron James and the Lakers are one big obstacle on his way. There’s no chance for him to pass that.
