Former Teammate Has A Unique Take On The LeBron James vs Michael Jordan Debate

JR Smith shared his take on the LeBron vs Jordan debate, and let’s just say he made a good point during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday. LeBron’s former teammate talked about the differences between him and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. He also talked about the great Kobe Bryant and his role in the GOAT discussion.

“He holds you accountable. One thing about Bron is he leads by example with his work ethic. His biggest attribute is being able to pull people along with his work ethic. Obviously, it’s easier for the better players to do it. But for my existence, Jordan didn’t do it. Kobe didn’t do it. A lot of players that had that “killer mentality” aren’t that type of person to do it.”

Smith pointed out to the similarities between the Black Mamba and Jordan. He believes both legends had similar styles, adding that both MJ and Kobe were scorers. According to him, LeBron is not a scorer.

He’s not a scorer. A scorer is a person who has a one-track mind to do an individual thing. Like a sniper,” Smith said of his former teammate. “Jordan and Kobe, they did play defense but they’re scorers. They put up 50, 60, 70 points a night. When you get somebody so well-rounded, rebounding, scoring, passing, dribbling, a good teammate. It’s a totally different atmosphere.”

The LeBron vs Jordan discussion doesn’t end here

Kobe and MJ had five 60-point games in their careers. The Black Mamba even finished his career with a 60-point night against the Utah Jazz. In his 20-year career, the great Lakers legend has averaged 25 points per contest. The Bulls legend averaged 30 points per contest in his 1072 games. This doesn’t mean that LeBron is a bad shooter. He had a different role throughout the years.

“He’s a totally different person than those guys. There’s no comparison. Because you can’t compare a lion and a tiger. They’re both cats but they are not the same. The lion is the king of the jungle. Everybody bows down to the lion. But that don’t stop the tiger from saying ‘I’m a bad motherf**ker too’”.
