Lakers’ LeBron James Celebrates Juneteenth, Argues To Be National Holiday

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James took his time to honor Juneteenth. King James took to his Instagram account on Friday to share his take on the “national holiday.” Yes, the great LeBron believes that it should be a national holiday.

“My ultimate question is why isn’t this date a NATIONAL HOLIDAY?” LeBron wrote.

Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19 all over the entire nation. On this day, slavery was brought to an end in the United States. The annual celebration made LeBron think of this. He wants to honor the big day and we know that many people will support his idea.

The Emancipation Proclamation outlawed slavery in 1863. It wasn’t until June 19, 1865, that federal orders freed slaves in Texas.

Some call it Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day and Emancipation Day. Juneteenth has been celebrated as a big day since 1866. Texans were the first to celebrate the big day.

Juneteenth has great historical importance, but it has yet to be recognized as a national holiday.

LeBron’s idea may not be that bad. We are going through a nightmare at the moment. The death of George Floyd is giving us hard time, and it raised so many questions. Now is the perfect moment to put an end to racism. Although slavery is long gone, people like George Floyd keep dying at the hands of the police.

Millions of people have been protesting against racial inequality and police brutality. Floyd’s family is looking for answers. Hopefully, they will find their answers now.

Colin Kaepernick was the first to support this initiative. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback took a knee during the national anthem in 2016, and this protest kicked him out of the NFL. Well, it looks like Kaepernick will probably return to the NFL. That’s not the only great thing to happen in the near future.

Floyd’s family will look for answers. There are so many people like him. A lot of young men died at the hands of the police. Americans won’t stay calm and do nothing. We need answers. We need the situation to be solved.
