Lakers Player Reacts to Dwight Howard and Avery Bradley Possibly Not Playing in Orlando

The Los Angeles Lakers may soon see the basketball court and get the long-awaited title. Well, not every Lakers player likes the idea of going back to the game. Veterans Dwight Howard and Avery Bradly belong to this group, and they have expressed their concerns regarding the season resumption. The NBA plans to have players back on the floor on July 30 in Orlando, Florida.

Playing without Howard and Bradley may be a big blow for the Lakers. They’d lose a high-profile defender, and this doesn’t really fit in their winning formula. However, the franchise is fine with the fact that Howard and Bradley may not join the team later this summer.

“[There’s] no divide,” one Lakers player told ESPN.

“Still have some time to figure things out as a league and as a team,” another Lakers player told ESPN.

The Lakers player is serious about the season resumption

About 100 players took part in the conference call, including Howard and Bradley. Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving was the most vocal player. Sources reveal that he was the driving influence on the call.

The Lakers were first worried that Howard plans to sit out the remainder of the season to focus on protests against social injustice. This conclusion was drawn upon the comments he made on the call.

However, his agent, Charles Briscoe, said that Howard has yet to make a decision regarding his game in July. According to Briscoe, basketball is the furthest thing from Howard’s mind at the moment.

“The statement was about social injustice and racism,” Briscoe said. “Yet everybody is still talking about whether basketball should be played. He isn’t saying that basketball shouldn’t be. He’s just saying that you should not be taking attention away from what’s going on in the country to talk about basketball. Basketball is just a sport, at the end of the day. But what’s going on with people dying in the streets, that’s something real. That statement, it had nothing to do with sports. It had everything to do with racism and social injustice.”

LeBron has yet to make comments on the potential return. He hasn’t opposed the idea of having the season back. Los Angeles Clippers’ Patrick Beverley supported LeBron’s idea of playing. He said that pretty much every player would follow LeBron. Wonder why? LeBron is the most influential player in the NBA.
