Latest Buzz on Possible DeMarcus Cousins And Lakers Reunion

The Los Angeles Lakers and 21 other NBA teams are getting ready for the season resumption. There’s so much to be done, and it looks like the Lakers are ready for a reunion. DeMarcus Cousins has been linked with the Lakers, and there’s a rumor supporting this connection.

The NBA season was suspended in March, and this put the season on hold. LeBron James and the Lakers won the top in the West, and they were considered favorites to win the title. NBA teams can return to the floor as of July 30, but some players aren’t really impressed with this idea. Dwight Howard and Kyrie Irving belong to this group.

Teams will be able to have more players to replace injured and sick players. Howard may not join the team in July, and the Lakers may be forced to bring someone else as a substitute. If this happens, the Lakers may bring a familiar name. Cousins knows how things roll in LA, and he may be of great help.

DeMarcus Cousins to the Lakers

Cousins signed with the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the regular season. However, he sustained a terrible ACL injury in August, and the team waived him in February to get Markieff Morris. Cousins has had enough time to recover and regain his strength. The Lakers cut ties with him, but they may be more than interested in having him back again.

Kyle Goon from the Orange County Register revealed it’s “definitely a possibility.” Cousins worked out in Lakers facilities. Goon called this a “nice little tightrope walk for Rob Pelinka and the Lakers front office to keep Boogie attached.”

Cousins can re-sign with the team because they didn’t trade him. Some NBA execs believe that Cousins is a nice fit for the Lakers team at the moment.

That’s the only team,” the exec said. “He respects [LeBron James], and he’s [Anthony Davis’] boy. [Other teams] don’t want that distraction. There’s a small window of time to play, and you can’t let up.”

Cousins hasn’t played basketball since the 2019 NBA Finals. He led the Sacramento Kings and played really well with Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans.
