LeBron James create a voting rights group

LeBron talked to New York Times on the phone. In this interview, LeBron said, “Because of everything that’s going on, people are finally starting to listen to us — we feel like we’re finally getting a foot in the door. How long is up to us. We don’t know. But we feel like we’re getting some ears and some attention, and this is the time for us to finally make a difference. We want to be beautiful once again.”

LeBron also revealed the agenda of their supporting group.

“Yes, we want you to go out and vote, but we’re also going to give you the tutorial. We’re going to give you the background of how to vote and what they’re trying to do, the other side, to stop you from voting.”

LeBron will join forces with other NBA stars, including Trae Young, Jalen Rose, and Skylar Diggins-Smith. The three-time NBA champion has also recruited his friend and business partner Maverick Carter to the group. LeBron is will soon have the initial funding. The non-profit group plans to educate and inspire African-Americans and not just go with one single party.

This is a great initiative. LeBron joined the entire nation in the fight against racial injustice and police brutality. He is not the only basketball player to do this. Stephen Curry and many others have voiced their support for BLM protesters.
