LeBron James’ Emotional Story Of Playing Three Games With Broken Hand

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors were rivals in the period between 2015 and 2018. The Warriors defeated a Cavs team in the 2015. Cleveland played without Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving that season. Things changed in 2016, and the Cavaliers defeated Stephen Curry and the 73-win Warriors team. But, do you know that LeBron played with a broken hand?

Kevin Durant joined the Golden State in 2016, and they defeated the Cavaliers in the 2017 NBA Finals. Irving wasn’t playing in Cleveland, but the team still made the 2018 Finals. It was hard, and players struggled.

In Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals, the Cavaliers had a chance to do something. In the fourth quarter of the game, the Cavs trailed 107-106 with a few seconds left. Gorge Hill tied the record with a free throw. But, he missed the second free throw and JR Smith pulled down the rebound. Smith was probably thinking that his team has the lead because he didn’t set up a game winning shot chance for the Cavs.

The teams took their game into overtime, and the Cavaliers lost to the Golden State 124-114. The Warriors won the series 4-0, and it was a rather unfortunate series for LeBron’s team.

LeBron played with broken hand

After the loss was official, Sam Amick reported that King James had been playing with a broken right hand since Game 2 of the series. He hit the whiteboard after the Game 1 overtime loss as confirmed by Amick.

“I let the emotions get the best of me and pretty much played the last three games with a broken hand,” the three-time NBA champion said after Game 4.

In Game 1, LeBron scored 51 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. His game was great in Games 2, 3, and 4. However, that performance couldn’t even compare to the Game 1 performance.

In Game 2, LeBron had 29 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds. In Game 3, he scored 33 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. What happened in Game 4? LeBron scored 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

Maybe the Cavaliers had a chance to win the series had LeBron stayed healthy.
