Malcolm Butler Shares What Tom Brady Told Him After Super Bowl Interception

Malcolm Butler had a hilarious conversation about his interception with former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after Super Bowl XLIX. It was a big game against the Seattle Seahawks. We all saw Brady approach Butler after the dramatic game.

“Are you kidding me?!” the quarterback yelled at the rookie cornerback. Butler’s goal-line interception sealed the win for New England. So what really happened between Brady and Butler after the on-field victory celebration?

Malcolm Butler talks about the interception

Butler had an interview with Liam McHugh in NBC Sports’ rebroadcast of the Super Bowl game between the Patriots and Seattle. At the very end of the interview, Butler shared details of his and Brady’s post-game convo. Let’s not forget that Butler is playing with the Tennessee Titans now.

“After the Super Bowl, you know, (Brady) telling me, ‘Malcolm, are you kidding me?’” Butler told McHugh. But later on, after the game, he told me, ‘You finally caught one that counts.’ Because I used to pick him off in training camp, somewhat, and that was my first interception. “He hit it on the head with that one. I finally caught one that counted. It really counted.”

Butler didn’t provide any information about his benching in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. Well, he may not speak about this ever again. Butler doesn’t like that topic and the same applies to pretty much every player on the Patriots roster. Bill Belichick’s decision to bench him was rather awkward and NFL analysts are still trying to determine what really happened during that game. Butler didn’t help the team win the game against Philadelphia.

One thing stands for sure. Butler has nothing but words of praise for the Patriots. He had a really great game with the team and he will never forget the success they had together. It may be a bitter end of the story, but Butler had a great game as a Patriot.

New England plays without Brady now, and Jarrett Stidham will probably replace him under center. Brady is part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers now, and his really excited about his fresh beginning.
