NFL Writer Predicts Patriots’ MVP For 2020 Season

Can you make any guesses regarding the New England Patriots’ NFL MVP for the upcoming 2020 season? Well, Tom Brady is out of the mix. Many would agree that he deserves this award. TB12 signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he will probably retire as a Buccaneers player. This eliminates him from the Patriots’ mix.

Who is the Patriots’ MVP favorite for the upcoming NFL season? There are so many options we’d choose from, including wide receiver Julian Edelman and safety Devin McCourty. If you ask Dan Hanzus, he will go with Stephon Gilmore.

The NFL MVP for 2020

Hanzus is impressed with Gilmore’s performance and the way he leads the Patriots secondary. According to him, this is the Patriots’ best chance for making the playoffs without the star quarterback.

“The reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Gilmore leads a stellar Patriots secondary that represents the team’s best argument for getting back to the playoffs without Tom Brady,” Hanzus wrote for NFL.com. “How good was Gilmore in 2019? Kurt Warner said on NFL Network’s ‘Film Sessions’ that Gilmore’s work ethic and ability to study an opponent reminds him of Deion Sanders — who might be the greatest cornerback ever. Gilmore is at the peak of his powers and easily the most talented player still in Foxborough. It makes him an easy pick in this exercise.”

Gilmore has been working on his talent, and he has improved a lot since his arrival in New England. If he keeps playing at this pace in 2020, he may have an excellent all-time great campaign.

The Patriots will enter a rather challenging season and they are pretty confident about their roster. The team lost a few valuable players in free agency, and Brady is the biggest name to leave the Pats in the past two decades. Kyle Van Nou left the team too.

Bill Belichick is fine with the current roster, and he is also confident about Stidham’s starting role. He selected a lot of talented players, and they all fit his criteria. Will the great Bill Belichick be able to win games without his star quarterback?
