NFL Writer Predicts Patriots Standing In AFC East, 2020 Record

Tom Brady’s departure from the New England Patriots may affect the team’s standing in the AFC East. Analysts have split opinion regarding this topic, but they all agree on one topic. The Patriots won the last 11 AFC East titles, and Brady played a big role in this success.

Head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots will play their first season without TB12 in two decades. The team received the worst schedule when compared to other teams. This makes things even more difficult for the Patriots. Three of the team’s division rivals have improved a lot this offseason. What happened in Foxboro? The Patriots went through a lot of changes, and these changes affected both the roster and the coaching staff.

A prediction on the Patriots standing in the AFC East

NFL writer Adam Rank believes that the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins aren’t strong enough to defeat the Patriots in the division. His recent prediction about the 2020 season suggests that the Patriots will snatch another AFC East title.

“…I have the Patriots at 9-7 winning the AFC East,” Rank said on NFL Network. “Listen, I know that everybody’s looking at this division and (they’re) like, ‘This is time.’ Even though they’re likely to start Jarrett Stidham, when you look at that division and you see Adam Gase, you see Josh Allen, you see Ryan Fitzpatrick, all of those guys. I still don’t believe that any team is ready to topple the New England Patriots at this point. Nine and seven, first place in the AFC East.”

Second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham will carry most of the load, and Belichick decided to trust him and Brian Hoyer. Stidham is set to start games in September, and he has all the talent Belichick needs to win games. He may be young, but he is definitely ready for the upcoming challenge. Chris Simms and many others believe that Stidham is the right option for the Patriots. The only thing we can do at this point is wait. What will happen next? Foxboro faces a big challenge, and Tom Brady won’t be part of it. Is Belichick ready for a Brady-less season?
