Patriots Trade Report: New England Star Linked to Philadelphia Eagles

Will the New England Patriots give Joe Thuney an extension? He has been involved in a trade rumor with the Philadelphia Eagles. Well, the Eagles aren’t the only team to show interest in him. Will the Patriots be interested to take part in a trade to Philadelphia?

Philadelphia is the first team to open the topic. Albert Breer from Sports Illustrated wrote a report on the situation, using his knowledge of the organization’s mindset or the Eagles offensive line.

“And I don’t think if they get through a couple of weeks of camp, and Matt Pryor, Nate Herbig, and Jack Driscoll aren’t where they should be, that Roseman will hesitate to pick up the phone. Would they take a big swing on someone like New England’s franchise-tagged All-Pro guard, Joe Thuney? Based on what I know … I think they’d at least explore it. But, again, that’s probably more of a down-the-road contingency thing for now.”

The Patriots may trade another player to Philadelphia

The Patriots don’t have enough cap space at the moment. They may decide to trade some of their players away to create enough room. J.C. Jackson, Mohamed Sanu, Marcus Cannon, Deatrick Wise, Joejuan Williams, Ja’Whaun Bentley and even veteran star Julian Edelman’s name have been included in this rumor.

Some of these player may join a different team and Rex Burkhead may join him. Extending Thuney’s contract would give the Patriots enough space to finish the season with little to no worries until the 2021 offseason.

Getting rid of Thuney would reduce the Patriots’ power in the AFC East for the 12^th straight season. If Thuney goes, the Patriots will be left with Jermaine Eluemunor. Of course, he is talented, but the Patriots can’t really rely on him if they want to contend. If things go wrong, the Patriots may decide to move on without Thuney. Let’s see how will things develop for the Patriots.

They will play without Tom Brady, Kyle Van Noy and a few other contributors.  It’s a challenging situation for the Patriots, but they have enough talent to secure their spot on the top. When it comes to Brady, he is getting ready for a new chapter. He is on his way to win a title with the Bucs.
