Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu Workout Video Showing His Surgically Repaired Ankle Looks Good

New England Patriots wideout Mohamed Sanu does a really good job in his workout. The veteran wide receiver makes great progress in the rehab from the ankle sprain he sustained last November. This sprain forced the talented player to miss one contest. Sanu was listed as limited player throughout the remainder of the last season. Doctors removed his boot in mid-May, and everything points to the fact that the wideout moves without any problems or limitations.

Earlier this week, Sanu was featured in a workout video. From what we can see, he did some amazing pass-catching drills. Although there was no high-speed running, Sanu made great cuts on his injured left ankle. This is an excellent sign for those who doubt his availability for minicamp and training camp. There are no doubts regarding Sanu’s potential workload during practice sessions.

Mohamed Sanu has great workout

Sanu sustained his injury in his third game as a Patriot. He started the season as a player with the Atlanta Falcons. However, the team traded him in an exchange for a second-round draft selection in mid-October. The New England Patriots paid a lot to get him, but Sanu’s impact was noticed right away. Head coach Bill Belichick gave him the second receiver role alongside veteran wide receiver Julian Edelman.

In the first two games with the Pats, Sanu was able to catch 12 passes for 104 yards and a score. The ankle sprain affected his trajectory, but this chanced by the end of the regular season. The biggest problem he had was building chemistry with former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Some say this happened as a result of his sprain. Sanu had a great start with the Pats, but he didn’t meet the expectations analysts had for him.

He played 424 of 692 snaps during his time with the Patriots. Sanu was able to catch 26 regular season passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. He also had an 11-yard reception in the Patriots’ postseason game. The veteran wideout had an 8-yard carry and returned 10 punts for 77 yards.

In 2020, Sanu will play with Edelman and second-year wideout N’Keal Harry. He will probably boost his numbers to show everyone that the Patriots did a good job in October.
