Report: Josh Gordon Applies For Reinstatement… Here Are Five Potential Landing Spots

Talented wideout Josh Gordon missed over 50 games due to the five suspensions he received in the past seven years. Gordon received his last suspension in December, but he doesn’t waste his time anymore. The talented wideout has applied for reinstatement. Gordon has reached out to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell about his return in the 2020 season.

The former Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots star has requested one more chance at a comeback. Gordon has received several indefinite bans from the league for repeat substance abuse violations. We don’t know whether Goodell will let him return to the field this year. If he comes back, Gordon can join one of the following teams:

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle was the only team to claim the wideout off waivers in 2019. Gordon is interested in joining his most recent home, too. In his five-game stretch with the Seahawks, Gordon was able to catch just seven passes. But, Russell Wilson supports him and the Seahawks also have Phillip Dorsett.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs don’t want Antonio Brown in their locker room, but they may want to get Gordon. Quarterback Tom Brady and Gordon had great communication in New England. The same can happen in warm Tampa. The Bucs have Rob Gronkowski and Mike Evans.

New York Giants

Joe Judge worked under Bill Belichick and he was there when the Patriots acquired Gordon in 2018. Jerry Schuplinski and Brett Biellema also witnessed Gordon’s greatness in Foxboro. New York may be interested in adding depth. They have Golden Tate, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton at the moment. Daniel Jones will enter Year Two. We all know what that means.

Will Josh Gordon re-sign with the Patriots?

New England Patriots

The Patriots released Gordon off injured reserve in 2019. That’s about a year after he received an indefinite suspension. However, they did want to keep him after the suspension. Belichick trusted Gordon. He may trust him again. Second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham will start at center, and Belichick may want to give him another valuable weapon. N’Keal Harry recovers from his injuries, Julian Edelman is no longer a spring chicken, and Mohamed Sanu does his best to return to his peak performance.

Washington Redskins

The Redskins have a nice receiving group, but Ron Rivera may want to add some spice to the young group. Dwayne Haskins may need some help here. Scott Turner coached Gordon in 2013. In that year, Gordon went off for 1,600 yards in Cleveland.
