Report: NFL Analysts Reveals The Place Where Patriots Will Hold Training Camp

The coronavirus pandemic has forced teams to hold their training camp under different conditions. Todd Archer from ESPN reported that NFL teams will have to hold their workouts in team facilities. Some stories suggested that teams from COVID-19 hot spots will probably relocate to states with lower numbers. However, none of this is true. According to Archer, the NFL has yet to confirm the start date. The Patriots have had their training camp in Foxboro since 2002. Players have had their sessions at Bryant University in Rhode Island prior to that season.

Tom Brady is no longer playing with the Patriots. He signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Patriots will have to make a decision on the quarterback situation. Second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham will probably go under center in September.

“Stid worked really hard last year, was our backup quarterback the entire season,” head coach Bill Belichick said at the NFL Draft. “I know he’s working hard in the offseason. He’s made a lot of progress in terms of understanding our offense and understanding opponent defenses like all players do from year one to year two. I’m sure he’ll get out there and be ready to go, be prepared, compete hard, and we’ll see where it takes us.”

The Patriots are ready to start their training camp

When asked about the 2020 season with Stidham and Brian Hoyer, Belichick said these two and the undrafted free agents he signed will be of great help in the process.

“That’s where we are, and you never know what’s gonna happen down the road. But yeah, we feel like we have four good players there … like to work with all those guys and we’ll see how it goes.”

According to Peter King, the Patriots rank at No. 21.

“This year reminds me of Belichick’s first year or two in New England, when he and Scott Pioli got the cap right by making do with lesser players and the highest-paid player in football, Drew Bledsoe,” King wrote. “By 2002, it was Brady’s team, and he flourished. Now, after jettisoning Brady, Rob Gronkowski, center Ted Karras, kicker Stephen Gostkowski and keystone linebackers Kyle Van Noy, Elandon Roberts and Jamie Collins, Belichick and Nick Caserio can clean out the cap and rebuild.”
