Watch: Julian Edelman And Other Patriots Players Discuss Racism Issue, Making Positive Change In The World

Veteran wideout Julian Edelman and his Patriots teammates discussed the current situation in the country. We are in the middle of a big problem. It’s not a new problem though. Racism has been thriving in this country since forever. Many people have been victims of social injustice. Police brutality is still a problem, too. The protest started when George Floyd died at the hands of Minneapolis police. He was taken in custody and one of the officers put a knee over his neck, pinning him to the ground. Floyd was left like this for over 8 minutes and then he passed away. The obduction showed that he died during custody. His family is seeking answers and the same applies to all the families who lost someone in similar way.

The Patriots have released a statement to address the problem, and Robert Kraft said his organization supports the protest. Many other teams did the same and there’s even chance for Colin Kaepernick to come back to the field. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback played his last football game in 2018. No team wanted to sign him. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he wouldn’t stop his potential contract.

Let’s go back to the Patriots. Edelman, McCourty and many other players went on CBS to talk about racism and the potential next move. The veteran wideout knows that it all starts at home, and maybe everyone should take his example.

Julian Edelman and the Patriots will make a change

Edelman took to his Instagram account to make a big announcement, and he is ready to do whatever it takes to ease the situation and find a potential solution.

“Joined my teammates on @cbsallaccess this week to discuss where we go from here. How can we create a positive change in the world. It starts at home. Listening to those around you and reflecting those values onto others, is the only way we can make a true difference.”

The Patriots will probably help the nation. They have done that in so many ways.
