Cam Newton Real Motivation For Signing Deal With Patriots

The New England Patriots didn’t show much interest in Cam Newton, but he will soon sign a deal with the team. Head coach Bill Belichick lost the star quarterback this offseason, and he had to find a replacement for him. Many thought that the Patriots would use Jarrett Stidham as a starter in September. Brian Hoyer was also here. A lot of people believed that the Patriots would pick between the two options. Add Newton to this and you get a rather complex situation.

The veteran quarterback wants to get the Patriots’ starting quarterback job and take the team to the Super Bowl. This is a priority for the quarterback. The Patriots will give him a chance to show his talent after signing him to a one-year deal.

Cam Newton wants a long-term deal

Is this everything Newton has to sign with the Pats?

In his final two seasons as a Carolina Panthers quarterback, Newton was inconsistent and plagued with injuries. There wasn’t a market for the 2015 MVP winner in free agency. Newton has so much to do to keep his job in New England. He will have to show the Patriots that he deserves a long-term contract.

Greg Bedard from the Boston Sports Journal reported that Newton has big plans. It was never about this deal and it’s definitely not about money.

“As one Patriots source told me recently, ‘This deal isn’t about this season for Cam, it’s about the next four or five.’”

Is New England the right spot for Newton? Will the Patriots give him the motivation he needs to revive his career? It depends on him. Newton has to show the Patriots that he has plenty left in the tank. He was a talented player during his time with the Panthers. But, he sustained injuries. the quarterback is healthy now, and he needs to stay that way to finish the season with a big win.

The Patriots will have the right to franchise the quarterback after the 2020 season if they want to do that. Newton is looking for long-term security and he is now in a position to be evaluated through a year-by-year principle.
