DeMarcus Cousins Cryptic Message Revs Up Signing Speculation

The NBA season will resume in Orlando, Florida, and DeMarcus Cousins hasn’t found a team. Well, the great DeMarcus Cousins triggered  a wave of reactions with his signing comments.

There were a lot of positive tests in the NBA, including the Clippers and the Bucks. A lot of players talked against the season resumption. What about Cousins’ next home?

The four-time All-Star wrote a cryptic tweet on Monday and fans went crazy. The replies suggested that Cousins joins a particular team. Well, it looks like this was a tease for his new comedy special on Amazon Boogie’s Comedy Slam.

Cousins left LeBron and the Lakers in February. The franchise waived him to bring Markieff Morris. He didn’t play a game with the Lakers before being waived. Cousins sustained a torn ACL last summer and the rehab process was really long. The Lakers couldn’t really predict the future, and they decided to cut Cousins and get Morris.

DeMarcus Cousins may not be signing with a team

In his best and healthy times, Cousins had a double-double record. He was averaging 21.2 points and 10.9 rebounds for his career. The former Laker also has career averages of 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game and shoots just around 33 percent from 3-point range.

Cousins can still play at a high level, and he is probably weighing his options. Many believe that he plans to continue his rehab process to avoid another big injury.

“Cousins, he and his agent, Jeff Schwartz—I’m told they’re going to be very careful about where they might commit,” ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski said on Get Up. “There’s teams interested, but they’re going to have to find the right situation for him to come back now, because if they can give him another six months of rehab and preparation for next season, wouldn’t rule him out with a team this year, but it’s got to be the right team, right situation or he just waits until a training camp next year with a new team.”

Shams Charania reported that Cousins would sit out for the season in June. However, there was an open spot on the roster and some people thought that Cousins would come back.
