Cam Newton will challenge Jarrett Stidham for the starting position in New England. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback agreed to sign a friendly deal with the Patriots. Newton will enter training camp with awesome quarterback competition for the first time in his career. Many NFL fans will agree on this one. The 31-year-old veteran is in great condition and he is expected to take the starting job in Week 1 of the upcoming season.

The quarterback signed an incentive-laden deal and the Patriots are more than impressed with him. His arrival in New England came like a surprise for many NFL fans. It was a tough pill to swallow for the second-year quarterback. Stidham was projected to go under center until Newton’s signing. What does Stidham say about this? Jarrett Stidham is ready to take over New England

Mike Reiss from ESPn said that Stidham has been working out with his teammates in Massachusetts. He has been throwing passes to Mohamed Sanu, Gunner Olszewski, Damien Harris and Dalton Keene. So, yes, Stidham wants his job.

Stidham and Hoyer have taken over the Patriots facility. Newton works out in California with a small group of Patriots players. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Newton is out of the game. We all know that he was working out with Sanu and N’Keal Harry last week. Newton is also studying the Patriots playobook.

The Patriots coaching staff will have to make a really big decision in training camp. Newton and Stidham are great players, and head coach Bill Belichick likes them both.
