Key Status Update on Lakers Markieff Morris Revealed by Insider

Lakers star Markieff Morris hasn’t really had any interaction with media members. NBA fans started asking questions, and we all wanted to know whether or not Morris has arrived in Orlando, Florida. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel didn’t say anything about this during his press conference. Will Morris join the Lakers inside the bubble?

Kyle Goon of the OC Register shared some useful info about the Lakers forward. According to him, Morris will join the team later this summer. The Lakers plan to have Morris on the court. His presence is more than necessary because the team has already lost two key contributors. Avery Bradley won’t come to Orlando due to health issues related to his family. Veteran Rajon Rondo sustained a terrible injury and he will miss about 6-8 weeks. Morris has to play. Losing him would add additional pressure to the team.

“A person with knowledge of the situation told Southern California News Group that Markieff Morris, who signed with the Lakers in February as a free agent, had an excused absence but was expected to join the team soon. It’s unknown whether Marcus Morris, his twin brother who was acquired by the Clippers two weeks earlier, has a similar arrangement with his team.”

The Los Angeles Lakers will use Markieff Morris really well

The Lakers are confident about Morris’ role. Lakers superstar Anthony Davis believes that Morris will make an impact. Davis leads the team in points, and he knows that Morris is a good fit for him and the rest of the team.

“Markieff showed that he can be a big part of our team,” Davis said. “Dion [Waiters] and JR [Smith] are obviously going to help us tremendously as well, with JR’s ability to shoot, and Dion’s ability to score and play-make. I think it’s going to be beneficial for us going to Orlando, and give us a chance to win.”

Some analysts say that Markieff is the less talented of the Morris brothers. However, he is huge and scores easily off the bench. Many would agree that Markieff brings a good edge to the Lakers. This would help the team win more games in Orlando.
