Lakers’ Dwight Howard Claims He Was Reported For COVID-19 Violations

Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard found himself in big trouble following the COVID-19 violations. The superstar said that he was reported on the league’s anonymous tip line. Did he snitch on himself?

Brandon Robinson revealed that Howard was reported on the hotline for not wearing a protective face mask. The line allows players to report violations to the NBA’s safety protocol to keep the coronavirus out of the Orlando bubble.

“Somebody told on me,” the Lakers center said.

Howard didn’t hide the fact that he doesn’t wear a face mask inside the bubble. He has shared a few videos of him not wearing a mask. This leads us to a conclusion. Did Howard snitch on himself?

The NBA’s tip line is pretty active these days. Several NBA players received warnings for breaking safety protocols. The NBA has also forced two players back into quarantine. Sacramento Kings’ RIchaun Holmes left the bubble to get food delivery. Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler dribbled a basketball in his room, and the security had to intervene.

Dwight Howard is not the only player to be warned following COVID-19 violations

The tip line makes players nervous. Not everyone is happy about it. Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie didn’t join his team in the bubble. He told players to avoid using “the snitch hotline.” Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert said it was “petty.” Let’s not forget that Gobert was the first player to test positive for the coronavirus. He contracted COVID-19 after the infamous mic incident in March.

This may be terrible for some of you. Some may say it’s an innocent incident. Well, Howard still received a warning for his habit. He has to wear his mask now. Players need to stay safe inside the bubble.

Howard may not wear his mask, and he should definitely not make it so obvious. Walking around with no mask on his face makes things difficult for players who are super strict about the rules.

The Lakers will play without Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo in Orlando. Bradley will stay with his family and Rondo will undergo surgery to repair his right thumb.
