LeBron James Tops All-Time Points List For The Decade, Michael Jordan Did Not Find A Place

A Reddit user had plenty of time to make a list of NBA leaders in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks by a decade. This list features stats from the 1940s to the 2010s. NBA legends Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and many others have found their place on the list. This list also has features Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, because yes, he tops the league in all-time points. Interestingly, the Chicago Bulls legend is not featured on this list.

  • LeBron James, 21,094 points – 2010s
  • Kobe Bryant, 21,065 points – 2000s
  • Karl Malone, 21,370 points – 1990s
  • Alex English, 21,018 points – 1980s
  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 22,141 points – 1970s
  • Wilt Chamberlain, 27,098 points – 1960s
  • Dolph Schayes, 13,298 points – 1950s
  • Joe Fulks, 3,898 points –1940s

LeBron James tops the league in all-time points and MJ is nowhere to be seen

So, why didn’t MJ find a place on this list? Some fans believe that he is the greatest player of all time. Jordan started playing NBA games in 1985. He ranks fifth on the NBA all-time points list, but he doesn’t have a spot on the list sorted according to the decade. Some fans questioned this list in the comments section. Why is Jordan out? The Bulls legend was an NBA star for 15 seasons and he was averaging 30.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Jordan didn’t find a place on this list because he hasn’t played an entire decade. In the 1990s, Jordan led Chicago to six NBA titles. Let’s not forget that he left the basketball game for a year and a half to play baseball. After his sixth title, Jordan confirmed his plans to retire before joining the Washington Wizards in 2001. He was one of the best scorers in the league, but missed out on several seasons.

If you compare Jordan to Chimberlain, you’d see that the Bulls legend had 22 percent more points per minute if adjusted to the same style and pace.

When it comes to LeBron, he became part of the NBA in 2003. He is in his 17th season with the Los Angeles Lakers and he is averaging 27.1 points per game. The king also leads the league in assists.
