LeBron James Tributes Kobe Bryant With Strong Message Ahead of Lakers’ Return

LeBron James hasn’t taken death of Kobe Bryant lightly…

There is a lot going on with the NBA bubble right now. Some questions are up in the air still about whether or not it will work at all. So far, things are going very good and the Los Angeles Lakers are ready to start up their season again. But one thing wasn’t lost on LeBron James and that is Kobe Bryant’s death.

With everything that has happened in 2020 so far, it might seem like Bryant’s death is the distant past. But in fact, this was a few months back. LeBron James hasn’t forgotten. This is proven by what he wore before the game against the Clippers.

We have seen many instances where LeBron has memorialized Kobe in ways such as this. Everyone in the Lakers’ organization was hit hard by his death so this is a great way to show solidarity with one of the NBA’s biggest legends.

Kobe Bryant, along with 8 other passengers, died when a helicopter he was in fell in the hills near Calabasas, California. Gianna Bryant, Kobe’s daughter, also died in the crash.

LeBron is ready for the future though and that means working towards a championship. According to James, he is more ready than ever.

“It’s definitely going to have a different mindset, different feel to it,” James said. “I won’t be turning my phone off during this run. We can’t afford to. I have to continue to check in with my family every single day.”

“I’ll be as locked in as I can be under the circumstances,” James went on. “I won’t cheat my teammates, I won’t cheat our fans and I won’t cheat myself. I’ll be ready to go.”

This is obviously a different season than most. With a nearly 4 month gap in the regular season, many are wondering if the Lakers can keep up on a high level. Before the break, the Lakers were far above the rest, with the second best record in the league.

Can they keep it up and work their way towards another championship? Only time will tell.
