Michael Vick Predicts Big Things Are Coming For Cam Newton Patriots

Michael Vick may not be the greatest fan Cam Newton will ever have. He even criticized the quarterback for his flashy outfits. Well, the FS1 analyst changed his mind and had some words of praise for the former Carolina Panthers quarterback.

According to Vick, Newton has great potential with the Patriots and added that he will make some really great things with the team.

Newton is a former No.1 overall pick and 2015 NFL MVP. The Panthers cut him this offseason and he was a free agent for a few months. The Patriots were linked to the talented quarterback, but they didn’t make a move until July. Newton agreed to a team-friendly deal with the Patriots. This deal will give him $7.5 million. Of course, it’s packed with incentives and Newton will have to try really hard to earn all those money.

Michael Vick is excited about Cam Newton and his new beginning

Vick is excited to see Cam Newton 2.0 under Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. He discussed Newton’s signing on Friday’s episode of First Things First on FS1.

“The trajectory for Cam right now is through the roof,” Vick said, referring to his chance to restart his pro career with the Philadelphia Eagles. “This is a 2.0 opportunity for Cam. He looks like he’s in tip-top shape and he has a chip on his shoulder. And sometimes after getting beat down for so many years, after you felt like you’ve put in the work and you feel like you earned your stripes, humbling experiences do occur.”

“I feel like Cam has been humbled to a certain degree and he’s looking forward to turning it around and showing everyone that he’s still a perennial quarterback in the National Football League,” Vick added. “So, this is the perfect platform for him. Obviously there’s a lot of work to do between now and the time the season starts, but I think this young man is ready for the challenge that’s in front of him.”

Vick spent almost two years in federal prison after the dogfighting scandal. This scandal had a terrible impact on his career, but Vick joined the Eagles and played his best football.
