Photos: First Look At Cam Newton Three Different Patriots Uniforms

The New England Patriots are welcoming a new player on the team. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Cam Newton and his new Patriots uniforms.

Newton will wear No. 1 with the team as confirmed on the Patriots’ website just a few hours after the official announcement.  This will be the fifth time in team history that the number will be worn. Newton joins John Smith, Tony Franklin, Eric Schubert, and the mascot Pat Patriot who had a really good run that went for more than three decades.

Cam Newton to win games in three Patriots uniforms

These three uniforms make things a lot easier for the Patriots. They will have to forget about the vintage No. 12 jerseys. Tom Brady is no longer part of the team, and no player will ever wear this jersey in New England. The star quarterback will have the same number with his new team. Seeing Brady throw passes to Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideouts won’t be easy. But, hey, everyone is getting a chance to start off a new chapter. Brady is a Bucs quarterback. Newton is a Patriots quarterback. No one thought that the former Carolina Panthers quarterback would ever join Bill Belichick’s team.

The former NFL MVP hasn’t won the starting job yet. He will have to compete with Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer for the position. The Patriots will have to make a big decision, and picking up the right quarterback is of utmost importance. Both Stidham and Newton are talented, and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels like their athleticism. Brady wasn’t really a mobile quarterback, and McDaniels was working under a different formula. He will have to change it now.

Many thought that Belichick would use Stidham. Well, getting Newton was a really bold move. He has a lot of experience, and yes, he can be of great help for the Pats.

New England is entering a challenging chapter, and they will have to make a few adjustments to the winning formula. Newton is nothing like Brady and everyone knows that. But, he has his own skills, and that may be more than brilliant for the Pats.
