Reasons Why LeBron James Deserves To Win His 5th Career NBA MVP Award

The Los Angeles Lakers will play their first game on July 30, and the situation is pretty tight. Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James were frontrunners for the NBA MVP award this season. The Greek Freak had a really great season with the Milwaukee Bucks, and he led the team to the best record in the league. Does this make him the best candidate for the MVP award?

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel talked about the MVP award on so many occasions.

“I do believe that he should be the MVP this year,” Vogel said. “That’s not to take anything away from some of the other candidate, but what LeBron means to our team — even before the season begins when the roster is being put together, with a number of guys that are on the Lakers because LeBron James is here and want to play with him … I think it starts there.”

LeBron has led the Lakers to the top of the West. Vogel pointed out to the fact that many players on the Lakers roster actually joined the team because of the opportunity to join the king of basketball.

Anthony Davis wanted to join the Lakers because he wanted to join forces with LeBron. They did a lot of great things on the floor. Yes, Davis could have joined every other team, but he decided to join the Lakers. He wanted to make a superstar duo and lead the Lakers.

Dwight Howard became a Laker this summer. The former Defensive Player of the Year had a rough 2018-19 season. He played just nine games with the Washington Wizards. Howard joined the Lakers and accepted a reduced role for the team. He was a starter and go-to player in his pro career. Now he has a bench role.

LeBron James is the NBA MVP

Vogel is pretty impressed with all the things LeBron brings to the floor.

“Then obviously, you know what he’s able to do on the basketball court: orchestrating the offense, leading the league in assists, and really setting the tone on the defensive end,” Vogel said. “We’re the third-best defense in the NBA, best in the West, and a lot of that comes from his commitment this season, which has been greater than the last few years, from what I’m told. That has really set us apart in terms of being the best record currently in the Western Conference. And like I said, I’m hoping those two awards go to those two players.”

LeBron is averaging 26.7 points per game, and that’s his lowest scoring record since the 2015-16 season. But, he leads the NBA in assists. Nothing beats his 10.6 assists.

Davis is also convinced that LeBron is the GOAT. He is the league MVP. Wonder why? LeBron can do everything on the floor, including shooting and passing the ball. LeBron involves other players and knows how to take over a game.
