He had so much to offer, and his great success motivated players to perform even better. What about each tattoo Kobe Bryant had on his body? They all had a meaning, and it looks like the NBA legend used tattoos to honor the things he loves most in life.

Everyone knew Kobe as someone who wears his emotions on the sleeve. Kobe had a few tattoos to help us understand his private life. Some of them were inked on his right bicep and forearm. These were a reminder of his basketball intelligence. Kobe was an amazing basketball player and he was also a devoted father and son. He was always about faith and family.

At the very beginning of his career, Kobe Bryant was represented as the boy next door who would never get a tattoo. Things changed in 2003, and Kobe changed a lot.

Each tattoo Kobe Bryant had was important

That year, Kobe was accused of sexual assault of a woman who worked at a Colorado hotel. Of course, the accuser’s legal team dismissed the case. Well, the Black Mamba confirmed that he cheated on his wife. Kobe’s fans were shocked. The Black Mamba wanted to honor his wife and got a tattoo on his right arm.

The NBA icon pledged his love for his lady. There was a press conference, and Kobe told his wife how much he loves her.

“You’re my backbone. You’re a blessing. A piece of my heart. You’re the air I breathe,” an emotional Kobe Bryant said to wife. “And you’re the strongest person I know, and I’m so sorry for having to put you through this and having to put our family through this.”

Kobe and Vanessa had a lot of issues throughout their marriage. However, they loved each other a lot, and their bond became stronger overtime.

On the forearm, Bryant got a tattoo with the name of his babies. The names of Natalia Diamante, Gianna Maria Onore and Bianka Bella were on his arm. There’s also a diamond underneath the first name. Diamante is an Italian word for diamond. Kobe spent some time in Italy in his early childhood. Kobe didn’t have the chance to add the name of his youngest daughter Capri.

The Lakers icon was a man of God, and this is written on his body. Kobe tattooed “Psalm XXVII” on his bicep, underneath the angel wings.
