Watch: LeBron James Addresses 2020 NBA MVP Race

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James may not win the 2020 NBA MVP Award. However, the king of basketball is more than proud of his accomplishment and the success his team had in 2020.

When media members asked LeBron if he was disappointed the MVP race concluded early, King James had incredible response.

“I’m not disappointed because things happen,” he told media members. “Control what you can control, and I can’t control that. As far as the MVP race, I’ve shown what I’m capable of doing, not only individually but from a team perspective. … There was a lot of conversation about, ‘LeBron can do those things in the East, but if he ever came to the West, what can he do?’ I heard all of that. To be able to have our team at the top of the Western Conference and playing the way that we were playing at that time and the way I was playing, that’s definitely a good feeling.”

LeBron also took to Twitter to add even more comments on the situation.

LeBron is the real winner of the 2020 NBA MVP award

The NBA decided not to include the final eight games in the regular-season awards. The season was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. LeBron was about to pass Giannis Antetokounmpo in the NBA MVP race. Well, it looks like the Greek Freak will win the MVP award based on the regular-season contests teams have played prior to the NBA hiatus.

LeBron is in his 17th season and his numbers are more than awesome. However, the MVP award is not determined that way. Giannis has been the best player on the best team in the NBA. That’s what his numbers suggest.

This may not be fair, but there’s nothing to be done at this point.
