LeBron James and Kobe Bryant planned to lead the USA in the top spot in the 2008 Olympics. The basketball team planned to make a statement, and they did. The 2008 “Redeem Team” had one of the best lineups in the basketball history. LeBron and Kobe were a good duo and they made wondeers together.

Just take a look at the roster. It was packed with talent. A lot of great players shared the same locker room. They all planned to win the big game. The team didn’t have much luck at the 2004 Olympic games. Well, they were ready to change that in 2008.

A group of strong players made their way to the Beijing hoping to win the gold medal. They wanted to pull out the big win, and their efforts were more than impressive. The USA team really wanted to win that game.

LeBron and Kobe led a talented USA team

The NBA stars were divided by the respective teams. However, the country kept them together. USA players didn’t lose a game en route to the finals game. LeBron, Kobe and the rest of the guys confronted Pau Gasol and Spain in the finals. Their victory was beautiful and they won the gold.

Kobe and LeBron had a strong connection. They were representing their country. A lot of fans hoped to see LeBron and Kobe on the same team. Sadly, this dream didn’t turn into a real thing.

Ballislife.com shared a throwback video of the Black Mamba and LeBron giving an interview. They talked about the team’s vision and their plans to win the gold.

“I do the talking and lead these guys with my voice a lot. My voice is very powerful,” LeBron said.

“You guys know what he does on the court as far as an example,” Kobe added.

LeBron was really young back then and he learned so much from Kobe. He trained alongside the best player at that time and they led the team to a win. Both players were amazing leaders with different skillset. This helped them hit the big game and they came back home with a gold medal.
