Bill Belichick Addresses on What He’s Seen From QB Cam Newton

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will be working with a different starter this year, and Cam Newton is a perfect fit for that position. Well, the Patriots have yet to make a decision on Newton. This doesn’t change the fact that he has left a really good first impression. Newton is leaving a mark with the Patriots, and things look really good for him.

The 2015 NFL MVP is not officially the starting quarterback for the Patriots. However, his most recent practice performance suggests that he is a step closer towards getting the job. Patriots players have praised their new teammate. Coach Belichick also likes the veteran.

The Patriots head coach made an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show” and used the chance to pay Newton some compliments. Is Newton a good fit for the Patriots? He may be exactly what the Patriots were hoping for when they got him earlier this summer. The quarterback spent too much time on the open market.

“Being with him every day, he’s an extremely hard-working player. First guy in, last one out type of guy,” Belichick said of Newton. “He’s really studied hard and spent a lot of extra time trying to learn our offense, our communication, our calls, nomenclature and so forth. I’ve been very impressed with that. He’s done a very good job of picking it up. He’s a very skilled athlete.”

Bill Belichick likes Cam Newton for a reason

Newton has so much to offer and sadly, some teams have underestimated his work ethic and football intelligence. He is a talented player and that’s why the Patriots got him.

Newton didn’t need too much time to get used to the Patriots system. He has been part of the league for many years and he sure knows how things work.

The Carolina Panthers released the quarterback over injury concerns. Well, the Patriots are well aware of his power and they will definitely find ways to use his talent.

“We always try to add competition to our team and we felt like we’d be able to do that [with him],” Belichick said.
