Bill Belichick Raves About Dak Prescott and Could Bring Him to the New England Patriots

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick likes Dak Prescott despite his packed quarterback unit. The Patriots will enter the upcoming season with Brian Hoyer and Cam Newton. Second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham suffered an injury so he won’t join his team in the next few weeks. Tom Brady left the Patriots in free agency and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But, Belichick has no reason to worry at the moment.

Ahead of last season’s Week 12 game between New England and the Dallas Cowboys, coach Belichick shared words of praise for Prescott. Belichick scouted heavily before the 2016 NFL Draft. Dak broke a lot of passing records. The Patriots head coach could select Prescott with the No. 91 pick but he decided to get Jacoby Brissett. The latter ended up playing with the Indianapolic Colts. Prescott fell to the fourth-round and the Cowboys took him at No. 135.

Dak Prescott is a nice fit for the Patriots

In the last four years, Prescott has developed in an excellent player. He is a durable quarterback and Belichick can use him really well. The two-time Pro Bowler hasn’t missed a game in his career. He has stacked a 40-24 record as a starter. In 64 games, Prescott has thrown for 15,778 yards with 97 touchdowns against 36 interceptions and finished 65.8% of his passes. Belichick likes his skills and maybe they will meet at some point in the next few seasons.

“Right now, he’s super impressive. This guy can throw the ball. He’s very accurate, he’s got great poise in the pocket, stands in there. He can extend plays and run if he has to, but he doesn’t do much of that unless he really needs to. He has great poise and discipline in the pocket, gets his eyes downfield. He’s a great intermediate to deep-ball thrower.  Just a great, great quarterback. Sideline throws, inside throws, in-cuts, posts, over routes, flag routes; you name it.”

Will Belichick try to get Prescott? He is a valuable player and the Cowboys may not be ready ti give up on him.
