Bill Belichick’s Experimentation Will Be Patriots Advantage in 2020 Season

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been praised for his authoritarian style of coaching. Well, Belichick’s style is more like a mystery for everyone. NFL coaches have tried to copy his system, but no one could handle Belichick’s winning formula. Belichick knows what he is doing and he has been doing this for two decades in New England. The Patriots will enter the 2020 season with a different roster.

The Patriots head coach has been able to play with players’ skills. He changes their position and does what’s best for the organization. NFL practice squads will have 16 players this season. If you add these to the 53-man roster, you’d see that Belichick has 69 players to work with.

Coach B has moved Troy Brown and Julian Edelman from wideout to cornerback. Matthew Slater goes to safety, Gunner Olszewski goes from cornerback to wide receiver and Jake Bequette goes from defensive end to tight end. Danny Etling is now wideout, Elandon Roberts is a fullback and Belichick has probably made a few more moves.

Patriots go strong in 2020

The Patriots head coach lost 10 starters from the 2019 season. Eight players opted out of the regular season. Belichick will probably change his winning formula and the starting lineup will be a lot different this season.

Olszewski  has added value in 2020 compared to other years. He is a wideout with the Pats and he can also return punts. Olszewski was a cornerback in his four-year career at Bemidji State. Yes, he even played defense last preseason.

The coronavirus pandemic may change the Patriots starting lineup even further. Maybe Belichick will move Olszewski in the interim. A positive coronavirus test will change everything.

Belichick may consider moving players to fill the voids Marcus Cannon and Patrick Chung left behind. Joe Thuney and Jonathan Jones can change positions, and they confirmed this during their video conference calls with media members. Thuney may go from left guard to right tackle. His franchise tag figure will get a better value. Jones may go from slot cornerback to safety.

Linebacker Dont’a  Hightower opted out, too. This may put Adrian Phillips or Kyle Dugger closer to the line of scrimmage.
