Cam Newton Has a New Nickname For N’Keal Harry

The New England Patriots will enter the 2020 season with a new name under center. Most analysts believe that the former Carolina Panthers quarterback will have the honor to lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl. Well, Cam Newton is busy showing his skills and finding a new nickname for his teammates.

The 2015 NFL MVP has created a really great bond with his teammates. New England players have had a few training camp practices. Newton used the chance to connect with his new teammates. Guess what… They like him a lot. Newton was well aware of the fact that he needs to build a strong relationship with his new team. Strong chemistry is key to every Super Bowl win, and Newton knows it best.

Cam Newton spills the new nickname

The veteran quarterback met with Patriots media members for the second time on Wednesday afternoon. He answered a lot of questions and mentioned the new nickname he came up with. Unintentionally. Of course.

“It’s extremely valuable for me and my growth as this offense continues to go. I’m just trying to take the lead of the guys that have been here before me — the (Brian) Hoyers of the world, the (Jarrett) Stidhams of the world. I’ve seen that that’s what they do, so if we have any type of question — I think the thing about this particular group that is so fascinating as long as you keep pushing, they’re going to keep accelerating.

“Even though we’ve been kind of low in the depth chart for other positions, that does not negate a willingness to get better outside of what they were supposed to do. Meaning with Mohamed (Sanu) and Jules (Julian Edelman) and Doughboy — I’m sorry, N’Keal (Harry) — everybody’s just had this mentality that if we have reps that we can kind of steal away via special teams or anything, we all are willing to do so. And I’m just learning from the guys prior to me. Hoyer has been a great visual for me to look at, as well as Stidham, and I just wanted to you know do my part knowing that it wasn’t good enough in that past drill, so we’ve got to make it good enough.”

Newton has done really great work on the field. He signed a one-year deal with the Patriots and he is hoping to get a bigger deal next offseason. The talented veteran is focused on his first season with the Patriots and the chance he was given.
