LeBron James is now out with another groin injury. The Los Angeles Lakers are back in the NBA bubble after 4 and a half months off. But things are not looking as shiny as they were before the bubble. Los Angeles are struggling more than they have all year and it is unlikely to change.

That does not mean he is not one of the most successful and popular players of any sport in the world, however.

Here are 5 things you might not have known about LeBron:

1. First-Team All-State

When LeBron was at St. Vincent-St. Mary, he not only played for the basketball team. He also made his way on the football field. Even being the star of the basketball team, he still had the energy to play for the football team.

James and his now business partner Maverick Carter played with one another on the football team. LeBron was a wide out for theFighting Irish for two entire seasons before calling it quits. He was even named even First-Team All-State.

2. Go Yankees!

You might think LeBron would be all about the Cleveland, his hometown, teams. But this is not the case. He actually grew up as a Yankees fan.

In 2007, went to an Indians home playoff game against New York with a Yankees hat one. This gave him a lot of booes from the crowd. He does support the Indians when they are not playing the Yankees however. He is starting to learn.

3. His biological father

LeBron James has never seen his biological father. Gloria James, LeBron’s mom, had him when he was only 16. Anthony McClelland, LeBron’s father, has a long history of problems with the law.

It was not easy for LeBron in his childhood. He and his mother had to move from place to place due to not having a steady job. He has spent many years hating his father for what he did to his family.

4. Gloria’s controversial gift

Gloria, for LeBron’s 18th birthday, gave him a 2003 Hummer H2which was very controversial. Gloria took out a loan of $50,000 to buy it. This was big since they were still living in public housing in Akron at the time.

This gift almost cost him his high school eligibility. They reviewed it and came to the conclusion that since it was a gift from his family, it is allowed. He was able to go on to play his stellar career.

5. LeBron James, the businessman

Before even stepping on the court, LeBron was already a millionaire. He signed with Nike for $90 million before even stepping on the court which is huge considering.

LeBron has also invested a lot of money. One of the biggest investments was in Liverpool FC, one of the biggest football clubs in England in 2011. His seemingly small 2% share was $6.5 million in 2011. However, now, this is closer to $40 million.

All of these things are pretty remarkable. It is shocking to see how successful he has become on and off the court.
