Julian Edelman Limited At Thursday’s Patriots Practice

Julian Edelman was limited at Thursday’s practice it looks like. The New England Patriots have been doing everything they can to get back on track this season. Last year was a disappointment and they definitely do not want a repeat of that. It has been a team effort of sorts.

There have been quite a few signings that should help them in the 2020 season. One of those signings is Cam Newton. Most believe that he will end up being the starting quarterback in the upcoming season.

He would be taking over for Tom Brady, who booked it to Tamp Bay earlier this year.

But now it sounds like one of the Patriots’ key pieces could be injured, or at least hurt. Julian Edelman is being limited on his practice time. Edelman didn’t, or could not finish Thursday’s practice after what looked like an injury to his his right leg during a 4-on-4 drill very early on in practice.

He failed to do much at all while on the field. He was seen slowly limping off the field after failing to catch a catch from Cam Newton.

This does not look good for Edelman or the Patriots as a team. Especially when the team is going through a huge quarterback transition. He is one of the most important players going into the season. Even in the receivers room, he is a huge part of the team.

The fact that he is hurt so early, before full practices have even started is quite scary. This would be a huge loss.

Edelman was willing to give some insight on what he saw about Cam Newton. It came in the form of some advice.

“We were both excited just to be on the phone with each other,” Newton told reporters.. “Then all of a sudden he just said, ‘Hey, bro, this (expletive) is calculus.’

“He said it and it was just funny. From that whole 15-minute conversation, that’s the only thing that I just remembered: calculus.”

It sounds like Newton has his hands full learning the Patriots offense, apparently.
