Kyle Kuzma Gives His Take on if he Should Start For Lakers in Playoffs

Pretty much everyone wants to know in Kyle Kuzma and his role with the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs. Media members asked the talented player if he could help the team more by joining the starting lineup. Kuzma was pretty confident and we sort of saw this coming.

The talented swingman said yes, but he also pointed out to the fact that Lakers head coach Frank Vogel created the lineups. Maybe reporters should have asked Vogel. Will Kuzma start or come off the Lakers bench?

“I mean, me being confident, saying yes,” the Laker said. “But I’m not the coach. I’m just a player. I kind of just do whatever they ask me to do, that’s my job.”

In the first game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Kuzma recorded 14 points in 30 minutes. The talented player shot only 35.7 percent from the field and 20.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Kuzma wasn’t the only Laker to shoot terribly against the playoff Blazers. The Purple and Gold shot 25.1 percent overall and 15.6 percent from 3.

Kyle Kuzma to join the starting lineup in Lakers vs Blazers in the playoffs

Lakers fans believe that Kuzma should step in as a replacement for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The latter scored only one point in Game 1. Caldwell-Pope didn’t hit a field goal in nine attempts.

LeBron and Jared Dudley praise Kuzma as the X-factor for the Lakers. The head coach may consider adding him to the starting five. Maybe Caldwell-Pope should join the bench for Game 2 against Portland.

The Lakers didn’t play their best basketball in Game 1. Let’s not forget that it’s a seven-game series. LeBron has never lost in the first round of the playoff run during his 17-year career. In other words, the Lakers are still considered favorites to win the championship.

It’s a wild run for the Lakers team and they now work on improving their games. LeBron is ready to win his fourth ring and Davis is off to his first title. They make the best duo in the NBA, and Kuzma steps in as the third man on the roster.
