“Going on 20 years of friendship to date my brother and it will always be a privilege and honor to do what we love to do and that’s hoop! The friendship between LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony continues during the playoff run

King James and Melo have been friends for many years. They were among the early selections of the brilliant 2003 NBA Draft. LeBron was a No.1 selection with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Denver Nuggets selected Melo with the third overall pick. LeBron and Melo were top picks but they took different paths. The four-time NBA MVP had a brilliant career and three titles. Melo didn’t have the same luck. He has yet to win a title, and the Portland Trail Blazers won’t have a chance to win it this season.

The veteran finished his first season with the Portland Trail Blazers in Saturday’s loss to LeBron’s team. Melo can contribute to the game and he proved doubters wrong. Many analysts thought that the veteran was no longer able to hit shots and win games.

Melo played 58 regular-season games this season, averaging 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. In his five playoff games against the Lakers, Melo was averaging 15.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

The Lakers have made the second round of the playoffs. Portland stays here. This doesn’t change the fact that LeBron and Melo will stay great friends. He will be right by LeBron’s side in the next few weeks.
