LeBron James Delivers Special Message To President Obama

LeBron James has sent a special message to former President Barack Obama. The NBA bubble is back in session. Because of this, we are seeing more and more NBA players back in the spotlight. This is both a good and bad thing. Hopefully the Los Angeles Lakers can keep focused on a Finals appearence.

Yesterday, we saw LeBron James send a special shout out to Barack Obama for his birthday.

James has been a lifelong fan of Obama throughout his presidency. He has been outspoken on his politics and what he believes in. We see this more than ever now that the Black Lives Matter movement has come up again.

LeBron James gave his thoughts on the movement recently.

“The game of basketball has always been bigger than just a ball and a rim and 10 guys on the floor, four referees,” James said early Friday.

“We used this platform to spread a lot of positive, a lot of love throughout the course of the whole world,” he continued.

“We understand what’s going on in society right now and we’re using this NBA platform as the players, as the coaches, as organizations to continue to stand strong on that,” he said. “It’s a good start, it’s a good start tonight. It’s great to have the NBA back and I hope our fans are proud of us tonight.”

“In the past when we’ve seen progress, we’ve let our foot off the gas a little bit. We can’t do that. We want to continue to keep our foot on the gas, continue to push forward, continue to spread love throughout America.”

It is good to see these NBA players stand up for what they believe in. Obama was a big part of that during his presidency. Many players around the NBA became friends with the force president while he was in office.

For the most part, the Lakers have been doing pretty well while inside the NBA bubble. Hopefully they can keep up their high level play.
