LeBron James Leaves Michael Jordan Miles Behind as He Sets Another NBA Record

LeBron James broke yet another NBA record. The Los Angeles Lakers have officially taken over their series against the Portland Trail Blazers. After the first game, there were many questions. They lost that game and looked very bad doing it. But since that game, the Lakers have pulled together 3 victories in a row. This is the Lakers team we were expecting.

One of the reasons the Lakers were able to get back on track is LeBron James himself. He has been playing out of his mind recently which has helped the Lakers get back to their previously glory. Most think that LA is one of the favorites to make it to the finals.

As mentioned, LeBron has been playing out of his mind. And yes, he has now another NBA record under his sleeve. It seems like he breaks a new record just about every game.

He is one of the legends who once set records that are seemingly impossible to break. James (34241 and more) passed Kobe Bryant’s record (33643) on the third-most all-time points earlier this year. Now he is trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38387) and Karl Malone (36928).

Now he has yet another record on his name.

James has played in 13 Playoffs in his entire career which has entailed 243 games in total. During these games, James has managed to pump out 7000+ career points, which is an all-time record by far. No other player has really come close to this. Michael Jordan had 5987 points and Kareem had 5762.

This was a good game to get this record on as well. Head coach Frank Vogel talked about how the game went for the Lakers.

“Everybody can’t be at their best all the time, so I’ve been happy with how AD’s performed,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “There’s been some nights where he’s been selfless, moved the basketball well. But he was absolutely dominant to start this game tonight. Just absolutely dominant.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plus-37 in 17 minutes type of performance like I did from Anthony Davis on both sides of the ball tonight,” Vogel said. “What he did defensively, he had one play where he had two deflections on both sides of the guy he was guarding and then dove on the floor and got a loose ball and got us going on the break. Several blocks, deflections, containment plays. He was all over the place on the defensive end and he was making everything. Just a dominant performance to start the game for us.”
