LeBron James Opens Up About 2020 Championship Run

LeBron James and his teammates are ready for the deep postseason run, and the king opened up about his chances to win the 2020 championship. How will the playoffs develop? Well, there are a lot of uncertain things at this point. There are so many questions, and can’t provide an answer to all of them. Yes, LeBron may be confident about his season, and he does know one particular thing.

“It’s probably going to be one of — probably the toughest one,” the three-time NBA champion said. “It’s the toughest championship run for me personally. From the circumstances of just being in here.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have the top seed in the West. They were able to secure their position in the conference despite the offensive struggles in Orlando. The Lakers will have Game 1 of the first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland won a play-in game Saturday, earning the eight seed.

LeBron didn’t make the playoffs last year. He missed the big run after making 13 straight playoff appearances and eight straight Finals appearances. His groin injury was horrible, and it put an end to his season with the Lakers and their dreams to win a title. Things changed and the Lakers are ready to move on with a win.

During his press conference with media members Monday, LeBron talked about the playoffs. One of the reporters suggested that it had been a “long time” since he had made the playoffs.

“It’s not that long,” LeBron said.

Did LeBron take for granted playing in the postseason? His response was pretty hilarious.

“I don’t take anything for granted,” LeBron said. “I live life, every day I maximize that day. Don’t take anything for granted. Because at the end of the day, I know where I come from, I know what I stand for, so I don’t take anything for granted, especially being in my 17th season. I don’t go into any season saying, ‘OK, playoffs, playoffs, championship, championship.’ I just am all about the process.”

The Lakers are playing Portland in Game 1, and LeBron has already narrowed his focus. How will the Lakers handle Portland? They are a tough opponent and LeBron knows it.

“I don’t think they would have been the eighth seed if they were healthy all year,” he said. “And that’s my mindset. I’m not going in as a one seed versus an eight seed, I’m going in with it’s the Lakers versus Portland. So, I’ve already thrown that out of the window so I won’t be going in with my guard down.”
